Creative critical reflection: The song “Pink + White” by frank ocean is known by many to be a mixture of R&B and soul as it’s defined with a slower beat and unique use of sound. It was a very interesting song to work with as it had no previously existing music video, giving us freedom to to be creative and deliberate with our choice of representation.  One of the main themes being  portrayed is age and gender as they were both conventions we challenged. We portrayed age in an interesting yet significant way as we chose actors among our own age (16-17) to not only refer Frank ocean at a younger age as he reflects on his past but also to make it more appealing to our target audience between the ages of 16 - 30. Giving a visual representation the youth demographic, allowing us to make our music video more connected to Gen Z.  As we did not finish our filming previously, we will need to go back into the city and take some more shots, this time both our talents and with a lasting camera battery (Hopefully). I plan on getting lots of artistic shots to keep the music video visually interesting throughout. The shots we have to take include the interactions between our talents and more city/landscape shots. We will be filming in the holidays on the 15th of April.  Despite us being held back I think this adds as an advantage to us as we have experience and know what we need to accomplish in order to get the right shots.  However, I am also very happy with the shots we have as they came out exactly as I wanted them to. However, I have also been watching some of Frank oceans older music videos and have somewhat been inspired by the split screen idea which is what I am hoping to incorporate in our final edit.
