In this music video, 'Photograph' by Ed Sheeran, it has been re created to create meaning through flashbacks showing the older man and his supposed lover spending time together while also liking past memories to the older mans present state. Through this falling-in-love montage it conveys to viewers a piece of this old mans past and how much this girl meant to him in is younger years. 

A shot of the couple sitting by a pond on a bench and at the beach is later contrasted with the old man sitting by himself. This can make viewers empathize as the recognize the girl is no longer with him and he is now alone, Suggesting that his life no longer has meaning without love. This music video comes across as both nostalgic (shown through past memories) and Melancholic (shown by the old man going through life alone)

This was overall a very creative way of customizing the music video for photograph as the single photo came alive into multiple clips of the young couple together. I liked the zooming shot when the photo came alive into a sequence of moments together because it brought through nostalgia and empathy for the old man.


LAST I HEARD



This music video was very well made as the shots were accurate and very still, the lighting was very good and the transitions were creative. The symbolism of the man wearing dark clothes and the girl wearing lighter ones links to the contrast of good and evil, causing love to fall away. I liked how creative the makeup was and attention to detail put into the overall presentation. The slant shot showing the girl as she woke up on the grass by a drone added a lot of precision.

Treatment, Mood Board, Location and reccie

Our music video will be about a girl who fell apart with her friend/s and has changed as a person because of it. Our video will be about 3 minutes and we will be filming in the city, preferably close to Queenstreet. We have chosen this location as it gives a good variety and represents how our main character feels lost in a crowd of people. We will also be filming in a park in the city, which can contrast with the bustling streets as it conveys a more peaceful atmosphere and serenity  which adds some good symbolism. . Our Music video will incorporate three main threads as well as being a mixed genre (Narrative and performance) which gives our target audience different directions to focus on. We are also going to try keep our shots and transitions smooth so that it goes along nicely with the rhythm of our song, However will keep all our sound Non diegetic.
